Avon (HarperCollins) signs Michele Gorman

HarperCollins' Avon imprint has signed two books by Michele Gorman. Senior commissioning editor Lydia Vassar-Smith signed UK and Commonwealth rights from Caroline Hardman at Hardman & Swainson.

The first book, The Curvy Girls Club, will be published in January 2015. It tells the story of a group of women who meet through a weight loss group and form a popular social club of their own. Vassar-Smith called it a "hilarious and heart-warming" story which gives the reader "the community and camaraderie of Calendar Girls on a topic that women never tire of talking about – weight loss.”
